Overview
In this role you drive UK&I government affairs strategy to support Intuitive’s policy objectives and business goals. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop messaging for MPs, NHS stakeholders, and regulators, shaping external communications and policy positions. You will monitor political developments, prepare concise briefings, and organize stakeholder meetings to advance advocacy efforts. The role offers meaningful impact by influencing healthcare policy in a global medical technology leader that champions inclusion and innovation. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, traveling up to 20% to engage with partners and policymakers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Government Affairs strategies and campaigns with leadership input
- Monitor political and healthcare policy developments and deliver concise briefings
- Develop policy positions, responses, messaging for policymakers and internal audiences
- Plan and execute stakeholder meetings, briefings, and policy-focused events
- Represent Intuitive at industry organizations to advance advocacy goals
- Collaborate with trade associations, surgical societies, and advocacy groups to build policy champions
- Ensure alignment of department messages and materials with broader policy objectives
- Synthesize complex issues for presentations and external communications
- Coordinate with external public affairs firms to support strategy
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years in Government Affairs or stakeholder relations
- Strong advocacy and communications track record
- Healthcare experience preferred (medtech/pharma and NHS decision-making)
- Event management experience and successful meeting preparation
- Superior policy-oriented English writing/editing skills
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
- University degree
- Fluent in English; other languages advantageous
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns
- Willingness to travel within UK/I and Europe; up to 20%
