Senior Fire Engineer

Overview

In this role you will deliver expert fire engineering consultancy to protect people and property across residential and commercial buildings. You will work with a cross-functional team on fire strategies, risk assessments, and compliance with fire safety regulations. You’ll produce strategy reports, manage fire safety designs, and support project delivery on time and budget. This client-facing position offers variety across a portfolio and opportunities to impact fire standards in high-profile environments. You will collaborate with architects, building control, and authorities to drive compliant outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Produce fire strategy reports and fire safety management plans
• Identify fire risks and develop measures to prevent fire spread, including sprinklers, smoke control, alarms and escape routes
• Create fire safety designs, calculations, sketches and diagrams with construction/refurbishment recommendations
• Conduct site inspections and liaise with architects, building control and local authorities
• Support project delivery to time and budget, including resource management and basic health & safety on sites

Key requirements

• MIFireE Membership
• Beng, BSc or MSC in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety
• Experience producing fire strategy reports and fire consultancy services
• Strong understanding of ADB, BS9999 and BS9991
• Willingness to travel across the UK
• Strong analytical and report writing skills
