Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead design projects for the switch disconnector portfolio, driving innovation and product excellence. You’ll bridge design, manufacturing and global engineering to deliver production-ready solutions and lifecycle improvements. You will coordinate technical direction across cross-functional teams and contribute to test programs and IP creation. Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design projects for new switching products and enhancements, including 3D modelling, detailed drawings, and assemblies
• Provide technical direction to engineers and cross-functional teams across local and international groups
• Collaborate with manufacturing to industrialise designs and resolve lifecycle challenges
• Own supporting engineering documentation (FMEAs, technical files, ECNs) ensuring robust governance
• Develop and execute test plans aligned to standards with internal/external labs
• Drive innovation and IP creation to sustain product competitiveness

Key requirements

• Engineering Degree (electrical/mechanical/mechatronic)
• 4+ years in design/development of industrial products
• 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Project management
• Knowledge of electrical products is advantageous but not essential
