Junior Network Engineer – Trading

Overview

In this role you will support on-premise data centres and networks for a fintech trading client, ensuring availability, security, and low-latency performance. You will work in a fast, high-uptime environment with regional network construction and automation. The position sits in the Infrastructure group and links network engineering to mission-critical trading across multiple asset classes. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale resilient networks and embrace automation for efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot on-premise data centre networks to ensure continuous operations
• Support high-performing, low-latency networks across regions
• Implement and enforce standard configurations with automation
• Manage network devices from Arista, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper and A10
• Handle incident escalations and participate in production change management
• Assist in building scalable, resilient network infrastructure for trading
• Support security, availability, and automation initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support FX, equities and fixed income trading workflows

Key requirements

• Experience with low-latency Arista switches, Fortinet firewalls, Cisco routing and switching, Juniper SRX, A10 load balancers, Cisco ASA, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Corvil
• Coding and network automation experience, preferably Python, Ansible, and Jinja2
• Knowledge of Linux
• CCNA certificate
• Ability to work out-of-hours for incident handling
