Overview
As Business Continuity & Insurance Manager, you will strengthen ASOS’s ability to prevent, respond to, and recover from disruption. You’ll shape a refreshed BCDR approach, linking technology recovery, crisis management, and third-party resilience into a practical Group framework that supports our global business. You will also own the Group Insurance cycle, handling renewals, claims, and broker relationships while engaging stakeholders across functions. This hands-on, commercially focused role offers cross-functional impact and a path to enhanced governance and operational resilience. Responsibilities
- Define and embed a refreshed BCDR framework integrating RTO/RPO, third-party resilience, and crisis management
- Oversee the BCDR lifecycle, including plan reviews, lessons learned, remediation tracking, and annual testing
- Coordinate risk, recovery objectives, dependencies, and testing across key business services with cross-functional teams
- Ensure clear federated ownership and accountability for recovery capabilities across functional and technology leaders
- Align BCDR activities with the Minimum Viable Company definition and recovery objectives
- Advise on development and testing of runbooks, playbooks, and recovery plans
- Own the annual Group Insurance cycle: renewals, broker/insurer engagement, and governance links to risk profile
- Manage insurance queries, claims handling, and stakeholder relationships; drive process improvements
- Establish an Insurance Champions network and use lessons learned to strengthen controls and resilience
- Lead or mentor the Senior Risk Analyst; support assurance, risk management, and crisis response activities
- Provide training on resilience, insurance, governance, and controls; simplify complex topics for broad engagement
- Identify opportunities for AI, data analytics, and automation in insurance and BCDR activities
Key requirements
- Significant experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, or related role (2–3+ years in leading programmes)
- Technical understanding of insurance programme management and stakeholder engagement (advantage but not essential)
- Professional qualification in risk, resilience, governance, or related area (advantage but not essential)
- Strong risk and controls awareness with analytical problem-solving
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to lead on governance and internal controls in ecommerce
- Clear verbal and written communication; ability to tailor messages for senior audiences
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
