Senior Class Underwriter, D&O

Overview

As a D&O Class Underwriter at Talbot (AIG), you will underwrite Lloyd’s risks within your authorities and contribute to portfolio strategy. You’ll work alongside a skilled team to deliver tailored financial lines solutions and uphold underwriting standards. This role offers exposure to a diversified book across Crisis Management, Energy, Financial Lines, Marine, and more, with a clear path to deepen expertise in D&O. Responsibilities

• Underwrite risks in line with Talbot’s philosophy and personal authority limits
• Support strategy and business planning, aligning with agreed appetite and processes
• Assist portfolio management and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines
• Provide prompt service to brokers and clients
• Maintain accurate premium entries in Subscribe and ensure compliance with procedures
• Adhere to regulatory standards and assist others in carrying out responsibilities
• Pursue ongoing knowledge and professional development
• Ensure policy processing and service levels are met

Key requirements

• Lloyd’s market experience as a Financial Lines Underwriter (essential)
• Detailed knowledge of D&O products
• Advanced Diploma with Chartered Insurance Institute or degree preferred
• Independent, self-starter with initiative
• Strong prioritisation and teamwork
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to understand problems quickly; calm and methodical approach
