Gentech Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client who are seeking Manual Machinist.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual milling machines and manual lathes
• Manufacture and machine components to required specifications and tolerances
• Read and accurately interpret engineering and technical drawings
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining methods
• Carry out turning, milling, drilling, boring and other machining operations as required
• Measure finished components using appropriate precision measuring equipment
• Inspect own work to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience working as a Manual Machinist, Miller, Turner or Toolmaker
• Strong practical experience operating manual mills and lathes
• Ability to set and operate machines independently
• Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Time-served machinist or relevant engineering qualification
• Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
• Experience machining both one-off and small-batch components
• CNC machining experience would be advantageous but is not essential
