Overview

In this role you drive the product line strategy and lifecycle for AFL’s optical fiber solutions, shaping offerings from market insight to launch. You will enable sales with tools and expertise while building partnerships across customers, partners, and vendors. The role sits at the intersection of product, sales, and operations within a global, cross-functional setting. You’ll influence pricing, roadmaps, and strategic priorities to accelerate growth in data center and enterprise markets. This is a high-impact position for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, matrix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product line strategy, roadmaps, pricing, and portfolio priorities
  • Lead new product development and commercialization from market requirements to launch
  • Manage full product lifecycle including investments, enhancements, repositioning, or retirement
  • Own product line performance: revenue, margin, profitability, corrective actions
  • Enable sales success with training, content, tools, insights, and customer-facing support
  • Build strategic partnerships with customers, partners, rack manufacturers, and emerging companies
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across engineering, operations, sales, marketing, finance, and support
  • Manage and develop PLM talent, driving accountability and improved ways of working

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in product marketing, product development, or related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • Product Management/Marketing expertise including market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management
  • Experience working effectively within a matrix environment
  • Knowledge of data center ecosystem: networking equipment, rack power distribution, cooling
  • Proven track record of establishing initial engagement with companies and fostering partnerships
  • Moderate travel; flexibility for global time zones and extended hours as needed
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a matrix context
