The Core Engineering – Software Engineer – Vice President – London

Overview

In this role you will help design and implement systems that support financial measurement, reporting, and regulatory obligations. You will partner with Finance to translate business needs into scalable data flows and processes, and you will drive reusable solutions across controller functions. You’ll contribute to data modelling and build distributed, cloud-based software in an Agile environment. Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end systems development in an Agile environment from requirements through maintenance
• Produce technical designs, testing strategies and implementation plans
• Partner with Finance stakeholders to translate business needs into workflows and data specifications
• Build reusable solutions and foster cross-divisional collaboration
• Contribute to data modelling and data curation

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in CS, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 6+ years of software development experience
• Strong analysis and design skills, knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance-oriented design
• Strong communication skills with technical and business audiences and global stakeholders
• Hands-on programming experience in Java or Python
• Significant solutions architecture and system design experience
• Experience with Agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Co-Pilot Agent Mode, Devin)
• Experience with Cloud Technologies – ideally AWS (S3, SQS, Lambda, Fargate)
• Strong RDBMS knowledge
• Experience developing distributed, microservices-based applications
• Experience with data modelling and curation for large-scale datasets
