Project Planner

Overview

In this role you will plan and schedule major government programmes, ensuring plans align with objectives and timelines. You will work within the growing Business Change practice to translate policy and priorities into actionable schedules. You’ll engage with senior stakeholders to secure buy-in and monitor progress, surfacing risks and optimising resources. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning tools
• Align project plans with programme objectives and timelines
• Identify critical path activities and milestones to enable on-time delivery
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Facilitate clear communication among project teams, stakeholders, and leadership
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies and report on deviations
• Coordinate with resource managers to secure necessary resources
• Develop KPIs and prepare regular status reports and presentations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and mentor teams on planning methods

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification
• Significant planning and scheduling experience on major projects/programmes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Project Online or similar tools
• Proven experience in government or public sector planning

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
