Overview
In this role, you will optimise cement plant performance by monitoring and improving key process parameters while upholding safety and environmental standards. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify improvements, implement control tweaks, and lead or support Plant Improvement Plans and capital projects. The position combines hands-on process optimization with data analysis to reduce energy use and improve reliability. You will be the site expert on process issues, contributing to a safety-first culture and measurable plant performance gains.

Responsibilities
- Track and optimise key process parameters to improve plant performance
- Conduct process studies/audits and generate improvement reports
- Recommend modifications to control parameters and processes
- Schedule and complete process checks aligned with objectives
- Identify power reduction opportunities and optimise fuel/alternative materials use
- Be the site expert for process issues
- Liaise with Central Industrial Performance team on process matters
- Maintain and improve Health, Safety and Environmental standards
- Provide process engineering input to capital projects
- Support or lead multidisciplinary teams and Plant Improvement Plans (PIP)
Key requirements
- Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
- IChemE associate (working towards or willing to attain chartered status)
- Knowledge of safety and environmental laws and high safety standards
- Proven process engineering experience (cement industry preferred) or relevant sector
- General knowledge in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics and IT
- Knowledge of process control methods and statistical troubleshooting
