Overview
As Global Practice Manager for Telecommunications, you lead and develop a team of technically skilled, customer-facing consultants delivering cloud-enabled telecom solutions on AWS. You shape strategy, guide solution design for network operators and digital infrastructure players, and partner with AWS teams to drive platform adoption and feature innovation. You influence executive-level messaging, roadmaps, and delivery models while staying technically credible in telecom domains like 5G, BSS/OSS, and edge. You help customers transform their networks and services, elevating AWS as a trusted leader in telecom workloads.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of technical consultants and architects in the telecommunications domain
- Engage with customers and collaborate with AWS sales, BD, and engineering teams to drive design wins and platform adoption
- Develop talent, educate and enable cloud computing expertise across a diverse set of carrier customers
- Shape roadmap and messaging for telecom workloads; guide service teams on feature sets and deployment approaches
- Represent the team to executive management and coordinate with internal AWS departments; travel to client locations as needed
- Ramps up team on AWS technologies and develops speaking, writing, presentation, and industry interaction skills
- Apply deep telecom industry knowledge to advise on modernization, BSS/OSS transformation, 5G edge/Core, and subscriber data platforms
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards across enterprise IT
- Understanding of IaaS cloud transition challenges
- Experience in consulting practice leadership with team size 50+ and P&L responsibility
- Enterprise architecture experience including virtualization and distributed systems
- In-depth understanding of the Telco industry, AI/ML, and agentic platform architectures (essential)
