HVAC Engineer (heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineer)

Overview

In this field-based role, you will service, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems across a large retail estate for a national facilities management provider. You’ll handle reactive breakdowns, execute PPMs to SFG20 standards, and ensure F-Gas and health & safety compliance. You will report work via PDA/CAF and deliver excellent client-facing service on-site. This opportunity offers permanent and temporary paths with growth potential within a major retail portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems (packs, integrals, walk-ins)
• Fault finding and reactive breakdown response
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20 standards
• Ensuring all work complies with F-Gas regulations and health & safety standards
• Accurate completion of job reports via PDA/CAF system
• Providing excellent client-facing service while on-site

Key requirements

• Proven experience on commercial refrigeration in retail or FM
• Valid F-Gas (Category 1) qualification
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
