n

n

We’re partnering with a large, customer-focused organisation to appoint a Senior People Business Partner to an influential, newly elevated role supporting two important and evolving areas of the business.

n

n

This is a broad partnering opportunity that combines the pace and complexity of a geographically dispersed frontline operation with the chance to work directly with Directors and senior leadership teams on growth, transformation, organisational effectiveness, and the future people agenda.

n

n

The ideal candidate will bring the right balance of operational understanding and strategic HR capability.

n

n

You’ll need to understand what it takes to support large, dispersed and fast-moving operational teams, while also having the commercial credibility and strategic capability to step up and influence at Director level.

n

n

The role

n

n

Your remit will include:

n

    n

  • Acting as a trusted strategic partner to Directors and senior leadership teams, providing insight, challenge and commercially focused people solutions
  • n

  • Translating business strategy into a clear people agenda that supports growth, productivity, performance and customer experience
  • n

  • Supporting the evolution of a geographically dispersed operational workforce as new services and ways of working are introduced
  • n

  • Leading thinking around organisational design, capability, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness
  • n

  • Developing robust talent, succession and leadership plans to ensure the business has the capability required for future growth
  • n

  • Supporting significant transformation, cultural change and integration activity
  • n

  • Using people data alongside operational and commercial insight to identify challenges, shape priorities and influence decision-making
  • n

  • Coaching and constructively challenging senior leaders, building accountability and strengthening leadership capability
  • n

  • Identifying opportunities to improve structures, ways of working, team effectiveness and colleague experience
  • n

  • Working closely with specialist People teams across employee relations, talent acquisition, learning, reward, inclusion and wellbeing
  • n

n

n

You’ll operate within a centre of excellence model, drawing on specialist People teams while retaining ownership of the senior business partnering relationship.

n

n

What we’re looking for

n

n

We’re looking for an established Senior HR Business Partner who has operated within a sizeable, complex and ideally geographically dispersed organisation.

n

n

You’ll bring strong operational credibility; someone who is also comfortable operating strategically without becoming disconnected from what is happening on the frontline.

n

n

You’ll ideally bring:

n

    n

  • Significant senior People Business Partnering experience within a large and complex organisation
  • n

  • A strong track record of partnering directly with Directors and senior leadership teams
  • n

  • Experience within a fast-paced operational environment such as logistics, retail, field services, engineering, distribution or another multi-site customer-facing business
  • n

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect people decisions with business performance and financial outcomes
  • n

  • Experience of organisational development, organisational design and workforce transformation
  • n

  • Strong capability across workforce planning, talent, succession and leadership development
  • n

  • Experience supporting businesses through significant growth, change or cultural transformation
  • n

  • Confidence using data and business insight to challenge thinking and influence senior-level decisions
  • n

  • The resilience and credibility to work with a range of leadership styles and constructively challenge at senior level
  • n

  • A pragmatic, grounded approach and a genuine understanding of the pressures facing frontline operational leaders and teams
  • n

n

n

The opportunity

n

n

This is an opportunity to join at an exciting point in the organisation’s evolution.

n

The role itself has been reshaped and elevated because the business needs more than traditional operational HR support. They’re looking for someone who can become a genuine strategic partner to the leadership team while retaining the operational credibility to understand what is happening across the business.

n

n

You’ll be predominantly aligned to the Birmingham site, with flexibility to work in a hybrid way and travel to operational locations across the UK when required.

n

n

If you’re a commercially minded senior People professional who enjoys being close to the business, can hold your own around a senior leadership table and thrives in organisations going through growth and change, we’d love to hear from you.
