Project Quantity Surveyor (M&E)

Overview

In this role you will own the commercial performance of major MEP projects in London, collaborating with operational teams to maintain cost control. You’ll produce valuations, cost reports, and forecasts while managing subcontractor accounts and contract changes. The position sits in a fast-paced commercial team, offering exposure to high-value schemes and long-term career development. You will build strong stakeholder relationships and drive proactive risk management to protect the project position. Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance of projects in collaboration with operational teams
• Support delivery within budget and maintain financial control
• Produce valuations, cost reporting and commercial forecasts to deadlines
• Manage subcontractor accounts from procurement to final account
• Review and manage project changes and contractual adjustments
• Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Monitor commercial risk and drive proactive solutions
• Ensure commercial processes and contractual obligations are followed and documented
• Support accurate record keeping to strengthen commercial position and project recovery
• Contribute to monthly reporting and overall project financial performance

Key requirements

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills for cost management and forecasting
• Knowledge of valuation processes, cost reporting and commercial management principles
• Ability to read drawings, measure works and assess project costs
• Commercially aware with attention to detail and strong organisational skills
