Senior RF Engineer

Overview

In this role you will drive RF product development and maintenance for Sepura’s mission-critical radios. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, validate, and integrate RF subsystems that meet regulatory and performance standards. You will tackle complex RF challenges across the product lifecycle, from concept through approval and support for new offerings. You will contribute to the transition from TETRA to LTE ESN and help scale solutions for emergency services customers.

Responsibilities

• Design RF circuitry down to discrete level, including component specification and sourcing
• Complete subsystem design and validation up to approved product
• Create schematics and supervise PCB layout
• Integrate RF with Digital, Audio, and MMI subsystems
• Define tests and documentation; perform root cause analysis and implement design fixes
• Provide type approval support to ensure compliance
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality solutions
• Support creation of new products as needed

Key requirements

• Discrete RF design experience
• Strong hands-on design experience
• Radio product development/integration up to 6GHz, preferably in telecom or critical comms
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Knowledge of RF systems, design, simulation, and testing including conformance
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise across teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and allocate resources
• Hands-on PCB experience; ability to rework/modify components
