Subcontract Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the end-to-end subcontract activity within Lockheed Martin UK’s Ampthill facility, supporting complex platforms and international programmes. You work within a multi-functional team to drive supplier performance, cost, and schedule outcomes, while navigating high‑risk, modified contracts. The role combines strategic supplier management with hands-on contract execution and change management in a defence context. You will travel as needed and contribute to bids and proposals as the business grows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of supplier cost, schedule and technical performance for moderate-to-high-risk subcontracts
• Collaborate in multi-functional subcontract teams including quality and engineering
• Hold procurement delegation and sign supplier agreements and purchase orders
• Develop and write subcontract specs, statements of work, and terms for specialised procurements
• Select/subcontractors and prepare, award, and manage subcontracts and change activity

Key requirements

• Demonstrable experience as Subcontract Manager or Supply Chain Manager
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers to meet cost, schedule and technical requirements
• Strong programme management, commercial, financial and technical acumen
• Risk identification and mitigation capability
• Experience in multi-functional organisations and delivering under tight schedules
