Planning Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead planning for complex water infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient coordination across sites and stakeholders. You will drive Right First Time through structured planning, risk assessments, and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will align delivery programmes with clients and suppliers, monitor progress, and push continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Drive operational efficiency and safety through robust planning processes
• Conduct risk assessments and establish mitigation for planned activities
• Maintain a structured planning process supporting Right First Time
• Ensure on-site delivery of personnel, materials, equipment, and documentation to plan and quality
• Coordinate project delivery programmes with clients, suppliers, and Project Engineers/Managers
• Proactively communicate roles, responsibilities, and requirements to stakeholders
• Monitor planning activities to meet timelines and expectations
• Identify and implement best practices to improve planning performance

Key requirements

• Proven experience in managing complex resource planning activities
• Strong knowledge of planning software (Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6) with emphasis on resource scheduling
• Track record of improving business performance through resource planning and coordination
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work within a high-performing team
