Overview
As a Business Unit Lead Planner, you will supervise planning, scheduling and materials control across multiple manufacturing sites to enable growth, customer service and strong operational performance. You will work with Assembly Managers and Supply Functions to align demand, capacity, materials and inventory through a robust planning process that supports timely decisions and efficient delivery. The role combines leadership, hands-on planning and continuous improvement to optimise stock flow and production support. This position offers cross-site impact, potential for development and a clear link to the company’s growth in high-technology manufacturing.

Responsibilities
- Lead planning and materials management across multiple manufacturing sites
- Manage and coach a team of planners and material controllers
- Ensure material availability to support production plans and customer commitments
- Monitor demand, capacity and inventory; identify risks and drive solutions
- Develop planning processes, governance and performance metrics
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics and warehousing to support priorities
- Drive continuous improvement in planning, stock management and material flow
Key requirements
- Experience in planning, materials management, supply chain or manufacturing operations in an engineering or high-technology environment
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, capacity planning, inventory management and production scheduling
- Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex organisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into business decisions
