MCE-R29 – Senior Admissions Officer

Overview

In this role you will lead the admissions function within the Department of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, ensuring accurate, timely decisions aligned with university policies and targets. You will manage a team of three Admissions Officers, overseeing enquiries, applications, and a portfolio of courses, while supporting UKVI, DBS, and health requirements. You will contribute to successful clearing and confirmation and use data analytics to uphold accuracy and inform decisions. Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise 3 Admissions Officers to deliver offer-making strategy and meet KPIs
• Oversee enquiries and applications for a portfolio of courses
• Ensure decisions comply with University policies and targets
• Maintain compliance with UKVI, DBS, and health requirements
• Support and lead successful clearing and confirmation
• Analyse data using Excel and BI tools to ensure data accuracy
• Collaborate with colleagues across the University to optimise admissions processes

Key requirements

• Experience in admissions or similar role in higher education
• Line management or team leadership experience
• Strong data accuracy and numerical skills
• Confident user of Excel; experience with BI tools (Tableau or equivalent) an advantage
• Knowledge of UKVI, DBS, and occupational health requirements (entry)
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines
• Customer-focused with effective communication and stakeholder management
