Accounts Payable Team Leader

Overview

As Accounts Payable Team Leader, you drive accurate and timely supplier payments while coaching a small AP team. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders to resolve queries, improve processes, and ensure compliance with procedures. You will lead monthly close activities, support contract margin calculations, and help deploy new technologies. This role combines hands-on AP work with people leadership in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely, accurate processing of invoices and credits and proper authorisation for non-PO invoices
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries quickly
• Lead and coach Accounts Payable Assistants, supporting their development
• Reconcile supplier statements to AP Ledger and GRNI, resolving discrepancies
• Manage weekly payment runs across currencies and ensure timeliness
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement action plans
• Support integration of new technologies and participate in system changes
• Represent AP services in monthly and quarterly reviews with Financial Controllers/Directors
• Ensure compliance with group accounting procedures and internal controls
• Attend meetings at other locations and perform tasks per accounting standards

Key requirements

• Experience in similar Accounts Payable roles
• Proficient with MS Office
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong administrative, numerical, planning and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of the purchase-to-pay process
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Accurate data entry and management
• Significant AP or general accounting experience
• Analytical skills for written, graphic, numerical, and statistical information

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• ERP systems experience
• SAP (desirable)
• Data analysis and reporting
