Overview
In this role you drive adoption of Abbott’s diagnostic solutions across the North or Central regions, engaging NHS, ICSs and private providers to secure sustainable growth. You lead regional account plans, build partnerships with senior stakeholders and shape healthcare pathways through point‑of‑care testing. You will influence decision‑makers, negotiate complex agreements and deliver measurable growth while improving patient care within a leading global health company. This is a commercial, cross‑functional role that blends account leadership, business development and market shaping.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management – develop regional plans and prioritise opportunities across primary and secondary care, public health and local authorities
- Business Development & Growth – drive sales, identify market trends, secure long‑term contracts
- Stakeholder Engagement – interact with clinicians, procurement, diagnostics leads, commissioners and finance teams
- Project Leadership – contribute market intelligence to strategy
- Market Development – support expansion of point‑of‑care testing and represent Abbott at industry events
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related discipline
- Strong sales experience in healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices or related markets
- Proven track record of profitable sales growth and targets achievement
- In‑depth understanding of NHS structures, commissioning processes and healthcare pathways
- Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Negotiation and contract management experience
- Desirable: experience in diagnostic testing, POC solutions, or medical device markets
- Desirable: knowledge of commercial models (managed services, leasing, service contracts)
- Desirable: experience supporting healthcare transformation or change management initiatives
- Desirable: knowledge of Public Health and Local Authority healthcare environments
- Exceptional account management and consultative selling
- Strong relationship-building and influencing capabilities
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills
