German Speaking Project Management Director – TRANSPORT PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM

Overview

As a senior leader, you will steer major, complex infrastructure programmes from conception to delivery across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You will coordinate cross-functional delivery teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and shape project governance, safety and performance. You will strengthen German-speaking client engagement and grow Ramboll’s project management offerings, while contributing to sustainable, high-impact infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver major, complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion
• Accountable for project performance: safety, programme, cost, quality, risk and change control
• Act as client’s senior representative; manage relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders
• Lead large multidisciplinary teams including internal resources, consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners
• Plan and manage design stages for high-quality, safe, compliant solutions
• Oversee procurement strategies and contract management (NEC, ICE, FIDIC, Design & Build)
• Champion health, safety, environmental, sustainability and customer outcomes
• Prepare governance reports, progress updates and financial forecasts to leadership and clients
• Undertake project and programme reviews for continuous improvement and lessons learned
• Support business development, client engagement, bid leadership and winning proposals
• Contribute to professional development and strategic growth of the team and business

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects
• Extensive experience in project, financial, programme and resource management with multi-million-pound budgets
• Experience leading 100+ person project teams (insourced and outsourced)
• Strong project controls capability; data-driven decision-making
• Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to influence at senior levels
• Collaborative, curious, confident leader capable of driving change and continuous improvement
• Business development capability including lead bids and winning proposals
• Fluency in German (speaking and writing)
