Overview
In this role you partner with business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across systems, processes and technology within a regulated insurance environment. You will deliver audit-driven insights that support capital, profitability, brand and governance outcomes, while maintaining strong relationships with Board committees. You’ll shape internal audit scope, reporting, and assurance to enable a proactive, no-surprises approach across the organisation. This is a practitioner role focused on developing trust with the business and contributing to PIC’s risk and control framework.

Responsibilities
- Support delivery of internal audits: scope, test plans, report drafting and workpapers to PIC IA standards
- Lead defined projects or work streams, producing reports, presenting findings and measuring outcomes
- Provide regular issue assurance and ensure timely closure of actions
- Develop and improve internal audit reporting templates and the PIC IA manual
- Draft status updates and Integrated Assurance reports for Management and Board committees
- Contribute to annual written assessment of PIC’s risk management, internal control and governance
- Collaborate with business areas to deliver a no-surprises audit approach
- Build partnership with the business to propose proportionate actions addressing issues
- Own learning and development in both technical and non-technical skills
- Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices in Internal Audit
Key requirements
- General knowledge of risks and controls
- Working knowledge of internal audit methodologies, IIA Standards and audit reporting
- Basic knowledge of FCA and PRA regulatory expectations
- Understanding of business processes and operational risks
- Familiarity with supporting delivery of internal audits
- Willingness to learn and pursue professional qualification
- Experience engaging with stakeholders across functions and levels of seniority
- Strong organisational skills
