Overview
In this role you will own the end-to-end product strategy for Sotheby’s client-facing websites and mobile app, guiding transformation across auctions, private sales and marketplace formats. You’ll lead a team to design and deliver high-impact front-end experiences that delight luxury buyers, working with design, engineering and business teams. You will base decisions on research, data, and metrics to optimize user journeys and drive demand. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape how clients engage with Sotheby’s in the digital era.
Responsibilities
- Develop deep understanding of Sotheby’s core business lines and translate it into a product vision for client-facing applications
- Define a roadmap by collecting ideas and prioritizing based on impact
- Collaborate with engineering leadership on resource planning
- Partner with design to create mockups and conduct user research
- Work with data science to define metrics, testing plans and project-level measurement
- Lead agile scrum sessions to drive timely delivery
- Present updates to executives and stakeholders
- Write concise product requirements for new features
- Foster strong partnerships with product and business teams
- Lead working groups to resolve obstacles and align with strategic product goals
Key requirements
- 15+ years of product management experience
- 7+ years of management experience
- Experience in a consumer technology environment
- Proven track record launching websites and apps
- Ability to set and drive cross-functional strategy with detailed guidance on projects
- Demonstrated interest in user experience or art
- Proficiency with product design/management frameworks
- Organized, collaborative, and adaptable under deadlines
- Analytical with a data-first mindset
- Experience in eCommerce, Lifestyle, Luxury or Arts is a plus
- Bachelor/Master in a technical or quantitative major is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
