Thomson Legal is working with a leading UK law firm that is continuing to grow its dispute resolution offering in Scotland.

The firm is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Litigation/ Dispute Resolution Lawyer to join its expanding Edinburgh team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious litigator who wants to take on high-quality work, enjoy real autonomy and play an important role in the continued development of a growing Scottish practice.

The team acts for a broad client base ranging from major national and international businesses to entrepreneurial and owner-managed companies, advising on complex and high-value disputes across a variety of sectors.
n
Role Profile:
n
You will advise on a broad range of commercial disputes, including:
n
- n
- Contractual and commercial claims
- Shareholder and corporate disputes
- Professional negligence
- Contentious debt recovery
- Regulatory matters
- Complex Sheriff Court and Court of Session litigation
n

n
n
n
You will have the opportunity to lead matters independently while working closely with experienced Partners and colleagues across the wider UK disputes practice.
n
The role will include:
n
- n
- Managing complex and high-value litigation
- Appearing regularly in Sheriff Courts across Scotland
- Preparing pleadings and managing court procedure
- Advising clients on dispute strategy and resolution
- Managing cases from initial instruction through to conclusion
- Supporting and mentoring trainees and junior lawyers
- Working closely with colleagues across the firm's wider UK platform
- Candidate Requirements:n
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- 5+ years' PQE in commercial litigation or a broader disputes practice
- Strong experience of Sheriff Court litigation
- The confidence to manage matters independently
- Excellent technical, communication and negotiation skills
- Strong client management skills
- Court of Session experience would be advantageous
