Health & Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you support the safe delivery of major projects within the client’s organisation. You ensure HSE governance and CDM compliance, with a focus on complex infrastructure work. You will deliver guidance, audits, and robust HSE systems to protect people and project outcomes. You join a team driving a proactive safety culture and influence stakeholders across levels to turn safety into everyday practice. Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, especially CDM Regulations 2015
• Verify RRSL Control of Contractor requirements and standards
• Perform site audits and inspections of construction activities
• Capture relevant LFE and ensure investigations are closed with the Project Management team
• Provide expert guidance on safe working practices to project teams
• Develop robust HSE management systems tailored to major construction projects
• Monitor HSE performance of contractor activities in line with CDM 2015
• Promote a proactive safety-first culture across the site team

Key requirements

• Proven HSE experience in fissile environments, construction, utilities, enabling works and major infrastructure projects
• In-depth knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• In-depth knowledge of Nuclear Licence Condition Handbook
• Strong track record in audits, reporting and practical problem solving
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills
• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Essential)
