JobDescription:
As part of theElectrical Engineering Power Team, you will be leading thedevelopment of design documents, reviewing supplier documentation,developing technical requirements and undertaking assessment ofdesign compliance to support the development of our electricalsystems.
Coreduties:
- You’ll bedeveloping design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality inaccordance with project or business milestones
- You’ll develop and manage requirements and acceptancecriteria specific to a system or product and/or across a system ofsystems, platform or programme
- You’llunderstand the contractual and performance requirements for varioussystems, and support the definition and associated acceptancecriteria and events through design, build, integration,installation and commissioning activities
- You’ll produce documentation required to support thedesign review process, including diagrams; technicalspecifications; supporting calculations; design evidence andjustifications
- You’ll provide technicalsupport to integrated performance and acceptance activities,including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to systemacceptance by the customer and support build activities, defectresolution and change management
- You’llsupport the development of estimates for the scope of work andresources required to deliver it to support bids, proposaldevelopment and project planning activities for varioussystems
EssentialSkills:
- BEng (Hons) /MEng or equivalent and CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements forCEng)
- Demonstrable experience of engineeringlifecycle with knowledge of AC and DC electrical powersystems
- Understanding of at least one of thefollowing areas: Power system modelling; generators; switchgear;protection; power electronics
Indepth understanding of Power System Architecture, Power Generationand Distribution, Protection and Co-ordination or Power Earth FaultMonitoring
The Electrical Engineering PowerTeam:
The Electrical EngineeringPower Team are working on the UK’s next-generation SSN design thatincorporates technology from the UK, Australia and the UnitedStates. The team are responsible for defining the system elementsrequired to feed into the submarine design and build process,including design documentation, spatial modelling and buildoutputs.
We offer relocation support packagesacross all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibilitycriteria.
