In this role you will support a market-leading London-based marine insurance team with high-value, cross-border disputes and coverage advisory work. You will analyse policy responses, handle contentious and pre-contentious matters, and help insurers navigate complex marine losses. You join a growing, outward-looking practice and collaborate with international colleagues to develop major coverage matters involving intricate wordings and significant commercial impact. This is an opportunity to take early responsibility and deepen expertise in marine insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Advise on policy response in marine insurance coverage matters
• Handle contentious and pre-contentious coverage issues
• Support insurers in strategic approaches to high-stakes marine losses
• Manage complex caseloads with autonomy
• Collaborate with international colleagues on cross-border disputes and wordings
• Contribute to development of major coverage matters with significant commercial consequences

Key requirements

• Strong academic record
• Training and PQE in a respected City or regional Insurance or Marine practice
• Approximately 5–6 years’ PQE focused on marine insurance coverage, liability, and disputes
• Ability to manage complex caseloads with confidence and autonomy
• Clear, concise communication and proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Common law qualification; sponsorship can be supported; London market experience preferred
