Senior Payroll Analyst, CoStar – London

Overview

In this role you will oversee international payroll processing for a broad Europe-focused remit, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will work closely with HR, payroll vendors, and tax advisors to support expatriate payroll and complex regulatory needs. The position sits in.finance, supporting SOX controls and process improvements, with a focus on Workday-based payroll operations. You will contribute to a high-trust, collaborative team delivering reliable payroll services across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

• Process 19 monthly international payrolls accurately and on time
• Ensure payrolls comply with international regulations, policies, and SOX requirements
• Support expatriate payroll processing with HR and external tax advisors
• Manage payroll inputs in Workday (file creation, uploads, manual entries)
• Collaborate with HR and Benefits on leaves, retroactive deductions, and adjustments
• Complete post-production activities: settlement, vendor integrations, reconciliations
• Oversee time-entry process for timely and accurate approvals
• Handle garnishment processing lifecycle and communications
• Contribute to process-improvement initiatives and adoption of new Workday features
• Maintain process maps/docs as workflows evolve
• Lead specialized payroll tasks: stock awards, option exercises, regulatory filings, sales commissions
• Oversee quarterly tax reconciliations and year-end filings
• Deliver high-quality payroll service and maintain confidentiality
• Support cross-functional teamwork and a positive work environment

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of payroll experience, preferably multi-country Europe (France, Spain, Germany, Italy)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel (data analysis, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
• Strong stakeholder management, including outsourced provider experience
• Experience with HRIS/HCM platforms such as Workday, TMF, ADP
• Payroll qualifications such as CIPP are beneficial
