Overview

As a Product Data Scientist at Tripadvisor Experiences, you serve as the analytical backbone for one or more product pods, owning measurement, reporting, and experimentation to inform product decisions. You will advance your analytics skills while applying rigorous methods to real product problems, contributing to a data-driven culture. You’ll translate analyses into actionable recommendations and collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape strategy. This role offers growth through advanced analytics and impact across the traveler marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse A/B tests across Viator’s marketplace using sound statistical methods
  • Champion experimentation best practices: power calculations, guardrail metrics, multiple testing corrections
  • Develop mastery of causal inference and advanced experimentation techniques for non-randomized questions
  • Own the measurement framework for your product area: define metrics, build instrumentation, surface insights
  • Conduct exploratory analyses and deep dives to inform product decisions using tree-based or regression models
  • Enable self-service through scalable datasets, metrics, dashboards and reporting frameworks
  • Translate analytical outputs into actionable product recommendations for upcoming sprints
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure relevant data questions are asked
  • Translate analyses into narratives accessible to non-technical audiences and advocate rigorous, unbiased analysis
  • Be the voice of inconvenient truths when data does not support stakeholder hypotheses

Key requirements

  • Several years in data science, analytics, or quantitative research at a data-driven organization
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying large datasets
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker or equivalent)
  • Experience with the full A/B testing process from design to interpretation
  • Some proficiency in Python for analysis and modeling
  • Track record of using data insights to influence product or business decisions
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a growth mindset to upskill in advanced analytics methods
