Senior Data Scientist

Overview

In this Data Scientist role within the Experimentation and Product group, you generate robust, actionable insights from video and simulation data to guide product, data, and research priorities. You will emphasize experimental and causal inference methods to deliver interpretable findings that inform AV2.0 strategy. You’ll build analytics frameworks, help define performance metrics, and develop techniques to improve feedback speed, contributing to Wayve’s mission of advancing autonomous driving.

Responsibilities

• Build frameworks to synthesize complex video and simulation data for analytics-driven strategy from product teams to company level
• Formulate and iterate performance metrics to measure success in AV 2.0
• Develop and deploy new experimental techniques to improve signal-to-noise ratio and speed up feedback
• Combine experimental methods with offline causal inference techniques

Key requirements

• 3+ years experience in a Data Science role
• Production-level SQL for data-transformation pipelines
• Experience designing robust real-world experiments (e.g., A/B) and evaluating test-statistics
• Foundations in statistics (distribution testing, assumptions behind frequentist stats)
• Proficient in a scripting language and data science/ML packages (Python: pandas, sklearn, statsmodels, scipy; R: dplyr, caret, stats)
• Ability to summarise, visualise and communicate findings effectively
• Track record of influencing team direction through findings
• Bias toward deriving actionable insight for prioritisation and strategy
• Curious about building new solutions and shaping AV2.0
