Overview

As an HR Business Partner, you will deliver generalist HR support and expert guidance to managers, shaping people practices across the business. You’ll handle employee relations, lifecycle activities, and change initiatives, contributing to a positive, high-performing culture. Your role bridges operations and strategy, translating data into improvements and ensuring compliant HR decisions. This role offers scope to influence HR processes and partner across teams in a hybrid, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence) and advise managers on policies and legislation
  • Support organisational change and employee consultation processes to drive effective people practices
  • Ensure fair, compliant HR decision-making across the business
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction; coordinate talent reviews and succession planning
  • Manage contractual changes and employee records; support performance management and development planning
  • Produce and analyse HR metrics (absence, turnover, recruitment activity, internal progression) and identify improvements
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant HR records and report on data-driven insights
  • Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives; enhance employee experience and retention
  • Review and improve HR processes, systems, and participate in wider HR and business improvement projects

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or similar role
  • Strong employee relations experience with ability to manage cases independently
  • Experience partnering with managers and influencing stakeholders at different levels
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Data-driven with ability to interpret and present HR metrics
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, approachable, and confident in constructive challenge
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
