Senior Land Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will deliver accurate survey data to support major infrastructure projects from Jacobs’ Reading office within a collaborative Geomatics team. You will work with modern surveying technology to influence design decisions, project safety, and long-term asset performance, while helping to advance our digital surveying outputs. You will manage surveys, plan fieldwork, and maintain high QA standards, mentoring junior surveyors along the way. • Deliver accurate, trusted survey data for infrastructure projects
• Shape and develop the Survey & Reality Capture capability
• Mentor junior land surveyors and share best practices
• Deliver smarter, more digital survey outputs / products
• Manage your work, plan surveys, and ensure quality over volume

Key requirements

• Degree, equivalent qualification, or significant experience in Land Surveying, Geomatics or Reality Capture
• Proven experience with topographical and laser scanning surveys; exposure to measured building, deformation or channel surveys desirable
• Confidence using Leica or Trimble GNSS, Total Stations, digital levels, terrestrial laser scanners
• Experience with AutoCAD, LSS, SCC, Leica Cyclone, Trimble RealWorks, ReCap or similar processing software
• Strong understanding of point cloud registration and 3D data workflows
• Ability to manage survey work on site, communicate with project teams, and maintain high QA standards
• Positive, professional approach with interest in mentoring junior surveyors
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility for site travel (including overnight stays)
• Membership of a professional body or intent to work toward Chartership (advantage)
