Project Director Civil Rail – Main Contractor – London 80-100k+pkg

Overview

In this role you will lead the delivery of multiple rail station frameworks from Central London, working within a major rail contractor. You will oversee client liaison, assemble capable project teams, manage resources within budget, and ensure safety, quality and programme targets are met. You will play a key part in monitoring performance and promoting continuous improvement across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role at scale, shaping rail projects across London and the M25 with a strong focus on delivery excellence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain primary contact with clients from award to handover
• Build and maintain competent project teams and allocate resources within budget
• Monitor quality and schedule to meet client requirements and corporate targets
• Establish and enforce health, safety, and environmental responsibilities on site
• Foster staff development and performance improvement within the project team
• Supports corporate-level performance monitoring and direction

Key requirements

• Previous experience at Project Director, Framework Manager, Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager level
• 10+ years of experience on UK civil engineering projects
• Ideally experience on more than one rail project or at least 2 years on a civil rail project
• Knowledge of overseeing rail station projects
• Excellent communication, MS Office and interpersonal skills
• Predominantly permanent roles (not freelance)
