Electrical Project Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead electrical projects from pre-construction through handover for a busy Milton Keynes contractor. You will work with clients, consultants and site teams to deliver installations safely, on time and within budget, across commercial fit-outs and refurbishments. You’ll own the full lifecycle—from procurement and programming to testing and commissioning—while managing risks and ensuring quality. This position offers growth with a reputable contractor pursuing a strong project pipeline and transformation in building services. A key hook is delivering high-standard, design-led electrical solutions within a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from pre-construction to client handover
• Manage procurement, programme, installation, testing and commissioning
• Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors, engineers and site teams
• Develop and maintain project programmes; meet milestones
• Oversee procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages
• Monitor budgets, variations, and financial performance
• Identify and mitigate commercial, technical and programme risks
• Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors and stakeholders
• Manage technical queries, RFIs, design changes and project documentation
• Ensure installations comply with specifications and standards
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical/construction packages
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and handover
• Drive quality, health & safety and project reporting
• Deliver projects safely, profitably and to a high standard

Key requirements

• SMSTS
• CSCS or ECS Card
• Strong planning, procurement and programme management skills
• Commercial awareness with budgets, variations and cost control
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and client relationships
• Good knowledge of UK electrical standards, health & safety legislation and CDM regulations
• HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent electrical qualification advantageous
