Overview

In this role you will shape how organisations translate strategy into coherent operating models and digital delivery. You’ll work across discovery, design and delivery in public-sector and regulated environments, connecting strategy to outcomes and ensuring practical, delivery-ready architectures. You’ll be embedded in multi-disciplinary teams, facilitating senior decision-making and supporting the community of practice for Business Change. This is a home-based role with client-site work, offering the chance to influence transformation at scale and across portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to business architecture and operating-model work across discovery, design and delivery phases
  • Develop and maintain capability models, value streams, service maps, operating models and transformation roadmaps
  • Translate complex organisational challenges into clear, structured artefacts for decision making
  • Collaborate with product, delivery, technology and policy teams to align change with strategy
  • Facilitate senior-level workshops to prioritise portfolios and investments
  • Ensure architecture is practical, usable and delivery-aligned
  • Support integration of business architecture with agile, programme and portfolio delivery
  • Assure quality, coherence and traceability of artefacts across engagements
  • Contribute to Methods Business Change Community of Practice and mentor others

Key requirements

  • Extensive Business Architecture experience or equivalent knowledge from recognised bodies (BCS, BIZBOK, TOGAF)
  • Experience leading business architecture in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to select appropriate modelling techniques to illuminate problems and solutions
  • Ability to influence and lead improvements to business capabilities aligning delivery with strategy
  • Define and communicate business models and information flows for digital transformation
  • Breadth of techniques to define and manage conceptual models (capabilities, value streams, operating and service models) across change
  • Develop and communicate usable business architectures, identify issues and manage escalations
  • Experience delivering in fast-paced environments using agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proactive in personal and professional development and mentoring
