Cost and Commercial Management – Hospital Construction

Overview

Join Turner & Townsend as part of the health programme delivery team, focusing on cost management and estimating for hospital build and refurbishment projects. You will work with scheme leads, Trusts and advisors to secure baselines, manage risk, and provide rigorous reporting. The role supports governance and cost optimisation across a large-scale healthcare transformation programme. You’ll contribute to client initiatives, adopt client tools, and help drive cost predictability and delivery excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost management and estimating expertise across the programme
• Maintain the approved cost baseline and support resolution of commercial matters
• Ensure scheme performance aligns with client policies and cost governance
• Deliver high-quality outputs aligned to cost management tasks and outputs
• Adopt client tools and products to enable improved performance
• Build close relationships with scheme leads, Trusts and Advisors for compliance
• Contribute to client initiatives and cost-saving ambitions
• Deliver detailed cost analysis and reporting to support commercial decisions
• Identify and manage cost-related risks and opportunities
• Support business case reviews and governance inputs
• Assist in cost change control and assessment of changes

Key requirements

• Relevant technical qualification with track record delivering major projects
• Strong client-focused approach and stakeholder management
• Working towards or holding an applicable professional qualification
• Experience in construction consultancy, healthcare/life science projects, or digital project management tools (advantageous)
