Overview

As a Machine Learning Scientist at EDF, you will develop and deploy AI-driven solutions across diverse business areas to support the transition to An Electric Britain. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate complex data challenges into production-ready models spanning ML, computer vision, NLP, and generative AI. Your work includes proofs of concept, production-ready pipelines, and collaboration with external partners to push digital innovation. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies and a hybrid work pattern from the Hove office.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and adapt ML models to address business challenges
  • Explore and implement AI applications including CV, NLP, and generative AI
  • Build proofs of concept and deliver production-ready data science solutions
  • Work with large varied datasets to extract insights for data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners on innovation projects

Key requirements

  • Master in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related data-intensive discipline
  • Experience building and adapting ML models with transfer learning, training, fine-tuning, evaluation metrics and explainability
  • Experience applying ML in computer vision or NLP
  • Proficiency in Python data science and visualization libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn) and DL frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch)
  • Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, big data technologies and ML solutions
  • Ability to design and build complex models capable of operating autonomously on large datasets
  • Experience finding and adapting open-source solutions
