Overview

In this role you will support the Site Manager to deliver high-quality, on-time housing projects with strict safety standards. You will work within a skilled construction team on a varied portfolio of new-build homes, helping to drive site operations and enforce quality. You will manage safety, inspections, and documentation while coordinating subcontractors to meet programme milestones. This is a hands-on leadership role offering development toward site management within a reputable residential builder. Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations to ensure smooth, safe workflow
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, trades, deliveries, plant and labour to meet milestones
  • Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks, uphold health & safety culture and compliance
  • Assist in preparing and updating site documentation (daily reports, risk assessments, method statements, progress photos)
  • Track and report project budgets, material usage and labour costs, flag variances and propose corrective actions
  • Liaise with client, consultants, suppliers and local authorities to resolve issues and maintain relationships
  • Support quality control processes and inspections to meet standards and specifications
  • Assist in handover documentation and snagging for smooth project close-out
  • Mentor and guide junior site staff to foster a collaborative team environment

Key requirements

  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS & First Aid
  • Minimum 3 years site-based experience in residential construction
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades while maintaining safety and quality
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, CDM & HSE legislation and NHBC regulations
  • Good numeracy and commercial awareness to interpret budgets, schedules and purchase orders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise with senior management, subcontractors and clients
  • Problem-solving ability and composure under pressure
  • Desirable qualifications such as NVQ Level 3/4 in Construction or a degree in Construction/Engineering
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to Dundee sites
