German Speaking Principal Project Manager / Associate Project Manager, TRANSPORT PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM

Overview

As a German-speaking Principal/Associate Project Manager, you drive the delivery of transport and infrastructure projects across civils, highways, ports, aviation, energy and water sectors. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure successful delivery from inception to completion. The role bridges internal Ramboll teams with external clients across the UK, Ireland and Europe, contributing to sustainable mobility and future-ready infrastructure. You’ll work in a collaborative, inclusive culture with flexible options and some travel. This is a chance to develop and lead increasingly complex projects within a global project management community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project delivery from inception to completion with defined scope, budgets and QA
• Manage production of technical and commercial specifications, drawings, and schedules
• Oversee design process via workshops and cluster meetings; support on larger schemes
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports, meeting minutes and programmes; deliver presentations
• Interface with Planning team for programme production/updating (Primavera P6
• Facilitate risk management workshops for design and project elements
• Manage sub-consultants (quantity surveyors, architects, landscape architects, designers)
• Ensure timely and accurate fee/cost submissions for prompt client payment
• Manage change within project scope to meet client satisfaction
• Lead bid teams and prepare proposals for multi-disciplinary tenders
• Develop positive relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and authorities

Key requirements

• Fluent in German (speaking and writing)
• Minimum HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline; degree preferred
• Possibly member/associate of construction-focused institute (APM, ICE) or commitment to achieve
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation (CDM)
• Understanding of procurement methods and contract administration (NEC, JCT, ACE, ICE, GC Works, FIDIC)
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• Experience in project management in construction; multidisciplinary engineering design consultancy preferred
• Bid management experience for multi-disciplinary opportunities
• Experience in construction and design processes
• Ability to write high-quality reports and interrogate financial information
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across geographies
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects
