Quality & Assurance Manager

Overview

In this role, you lead Quality and Assurance within the Asset Delivery PMO for AMP8, establishing and maintaining a robust QMS, governance, and assurance activities. You will drive readiness, reviews, and lessons learned across a multi-billion capital programme, partnering with senior leaders to ensure controlled, auditable delivery. You’ll shape best practice, raise PMO maturity, and provide assurance to executives that investments meet standards. Responsibilities

• Own and improve the Asset Delivery Way and programme delivery processes, standards, and guidelines
• Maintain the PMO Quality Management System and monitor compliance
• Lead the PMO’s independent second-line assurance across programmes and projects
• Develop risk-based assurance plans for governance, readiness, and process compliance
• Lead governance supporting investment decision making
• Oversee programme support and administration teams delivering core PMO services
• Ensure effective management of project documentation and records
• Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team
• Act as trusted advisor to Head of PMO and Asset Delivery leadership
• Build relationships across stakeholder groups to drive adoption of standards and governance

Key requirements

• Significant senior leadership experience in PMO, governance, assurance or quality management
• Proven governance and assurance delivery within large investment programmes
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams
• Strong understanding of project, programme and portfolio management
• Experience developing and implementing QMS and governance frameworks
• Knowledge of assurance methodologies, audit processes and control environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Ability to communicate complex information to senior leadership audiences
• Experience in utilities, infrastructure, construction or regulated industries
• Knowledge of delivery frameworks (P3M3, MSP, PRINCE2, APM PMO) and portfolios > £1bn
