Overview

As a Data Privacy Lawyer in Publicis Groupe’s London office, you will advise on privacy risks and compliance for our Media, Creative, Health agencies and Publicis Sapient. You’ll work within the Global Data Privacy Office to support cross‑functional teams and commercial and employment lawyers on privacy provisions. The role blends legal judgment with practical privacy expertise to safeguard data handling across the Groupe. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position in a global, data-driven environment with a clear impact on client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the UK privacy subject matter expert for the Media, Creative, Health agencies and Publicis Sapient.
  • Provide practical privacy guidance to cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Support commercial and employment legal teams on privacy in contracts and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Global Data Privacy Operations to adapt governance materials (inventory templates, due diligence questionnaires, questionnaires for proprietary systems, DPIAs).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data privacy provisions in complex commercial agreements.
  • Stay current on privacy laws and disseminate knowledge across the business and legal functions.
  • Advise on data partnerships and vendor relationships from a privacy perspective.
  • Develop privacy training materials and conduct trainings.

Key requirements

  • Qualified UK solicitor, EU lawyer or equivalent in common law jurisdiction
  • Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US) desirable
  • 3+ years of legal experience, ideally in privacy or a mix of commercial and privacy
  • In-house experience desirable, especially in AdTech/tech with digital advertising knowledge
  • Experience applying European and UK privacy laws and industry guidelines relevant to media and advertising
  • Commercially minded with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, proactive privacy expert with up-to-date regulatory knowledge
