Overview

In this role you join DWF’s London disputes group on a permanent secondment with a major telecoms client in the City. You will support an in-house team across commercial dispute matters, liaising with external counsel and handling pre-litigation and litigation tasks. The position offers flexible office attendance and a collaborative, high-performing environment with opportunities to train and contribute to cross-functional initiatives. You will help manage budgets, support internal legal queries, and share expertise through training, shaping how disputes are resolved for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with and instruct external lawyers and counsel on litigation and disputes
  • Handle commercial litigation, group actions, CAT matters, and defense of claims
  • Oversee disclosure exercises and document management
  • Assist with contractual disputes pre- and during contract lifecycle
  • Support internal teams with ad hoc legal queries and stakeholder engagement
  • Deliver training to wider commercial and legal parts of the business
  • Manage external spend budgets

Key requirements

  • 3 years+ PQE, England & Wales qualified
  • Experience in commercial dispute resolution from a commercial law firm
  • Experience of English High Court litigation required
  • In-house experience not required but advantageous
  • Experience of mediation is advantageous
  • Experience with CAT matters is advantageous
  • Experience in arbitration, adjudication and ADR is advantageous
