Financial Systems Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support and improve the finance information systems to optimise NHS resources and ensure accurate reporting. You will lead liaison with the system provider and the Trust Digital department, applying GDPR and information governance expertise. You will drive development of new reports and finance processes while solving complex issues in a small, experienced team. This is an opportunity to grow within NHS Finance and Informatics and influence financial performance across the Trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive system support to the finance department
• Lead liaising with the NEP system provider and Trust Digital department
• Develop and improve reporting for the Trust’s financial position
• Investigate issues, question current processes and implement changes
• Lead technical discussions and ensure stakeholders understand requirements
• Communicate issues and deadlines effectively
• Contribute to timely, accurate financial information and reporting
• Support agile working with occasional travel across the Northwest

Key requirements

• Advanced / Expert user of SQL (SQL Server)
• Experience with reporting tools (PowerBI, QlikView, Business Objects)
• Understanding of business processes and data quality
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience managing and developing complex information systems
• Ability to explain technical concepts to managers and staff
• Knowledge of HR processes and GDPR / Information Governance
• Degree level education; MCTS or equivalent certification preferred
• Experience in identifying, interpreting and documenting new developments and requirements
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks
