Overview
In this role, you apply hydrogeology expertise to understand contaminant movement in groundwater and help shape remediation strategies. You will work within a collaborative Energy and Resources team across contaminated land, hydrogeology, groundwater modelling and ground engineering. You’ll develop and apply site models, run flow and transport analyses, and prepare technical reports for clients and regulators. Responsibilities
- Design field investigations and groundwater monitoring plans
- Interpret hydrogeological data and conduct risk assessments
- Develop, refine and apply conceptual site models for soil, groundwater, surface water and ground gas
- Contribute to groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling
- Carry out numerical and analytical modelling for contaminated site projects
- Prepare clear technical reports and present findings to clients and regulators
- Liaise with clients and regulators and mentor junior colleagues
- Willingness to travel to UK offices and project sites
Key requirements
- Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemistry with MSc or PhD being a welcome bonus
- Extensive experience in hydrogeology, contaminated land assessment, groundwater risk assessment or environmental consultancy
- Experience in conceptual site model development, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling, ground investigation design, and data consolidation
- Ability to prepare and communicate technical findings clearly to clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams
- Desirable familiarity with ArcGIS
- Comfort working on complex multi-disciplinary projects and contributing to a collaborative team
