Overview

As an Associate in Leveraged Finance Credit, you support the end-to-end credit lifecycle for leveraged transactions, collaborating with senior team members to assess risk and enable financing for corporate and sponsor-led deals. You will engage in due diligence, forecasts, model building, and credit memos, while gaining broad exposure to the bank’s product suite and cross-functional stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Assist with due diligence reviews, forecast assessment, model building, and credit memorandum drafting
  • Provide guidance on drivers of loan returns and profitability
  • Develop deep understanding of client, industry, and macro risks to form informed risk opinions
  • Maintain timely monitoring of risk ratings, financial reports, compliance, forecasts, and annual reviews
  • Ensure adherence to credit policy and procedures
  • Learn core loan and derivative documentation
  • Engage with stakeholders across Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Sales & Trading, Legal, and Risk
  • Participate in strategic projects supporting team and business goals

Key requirements

  • Experience with a major financial institution
  • Corporate credit background; leveraged finance exposure preferred but not required
  • Credit risk awareness and understanding of risk appetite, exposures, and ratings
  • Ability to extract and assess information relevant to credit quality
  • Proactive, curious, and adaptable attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
