As Factory General Manager, you will lead Sulzer Pumps UK, owning the manufacturing operations from order intake to delivery. You will drive strategic, financial, and people leadership to sustain growth, exceptional customer satisfaction, and a high-performing culture. You will align UK priorities with Sulzer’s global strategy while shaping the future of the UK business. You will champion safety, Lean principles, and continuous improvement to optimize operational performance and value creation.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for the legal entity and maintain high ethical standards
• Own the P&L and execute strategic plans to achieve sustainable growth and profitability
• Direct and optimise site operations across PM, Engineering, Procurement, Production, Planning & Logistics, Quality, CI and ESH
• Champion health, safety and environmental excellence and embed Lean manufacturing
• Build a high-performing leadership team and empower employees through development and cross-training
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and resource management
• Engage with employees, unions, customers, suppliers, partners and participate in S&OP and leadership forums

Key requirements

• Significant leadership experience in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
• Proven success in senior operational or general management roles
• Expertise in manufacturing, supply chain and project execution
• Track record of operational transformation and sustainable growth
• Solid financial acumen with P&L management experience
• Strong stakeholder management and executive influence
• Experience in international matrix organisations
• Excellent communication, leadership and change management capabilities
• Experience in rotating equipment or related sectors is advantageous
• Chartered Engineer status and/or engineering degree preferred; MBA advantageous
