Cloud Billing Deputy Operations Manager

Overview

In this role, you lead the day-to-day Cloud Billing operations within a supportive, collaborative finance team. You will act as deputy to the Cloud Billing Manager, guiding high-volume billing cycles and assurance of accuracy, timeliness, and customer focus. You’ll develop and coach the Analytics team, drive process improvements, and partner across Finance, Technology, Sales, and Vendor teams to enable scalable, automated billing. Responsibilities

• Lead daily operational delivery of Cloud Billing services to ensure accuracy and on-time completion
• Act as deputy to the Cloud Billing Manager and support leadership decisions
• Oversee complex, high-volume billing cycles with governance and planning
• Coach and develop Cloud Billing Analysts to build a high-performing team
• Monitor KPIs, workload and service quality to deliver strong customer outcomes
• Escalate complex billing/service issues and drive timely resolutions
• Maintain controls, governance and risk management practices
• Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Sales, Customer Ops and Vendor Alliance to improve processes and deliver excellence
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement
• Support audit activities, system changes and transformational initiatives across Cloud Billing

Key requirements

• Experience in Cloud, Finance, Technology, Telecommunications or complex billing environments
• Experience managing operational teams and high-volume billing processes
• Understanding of billing controls, reconciliations, governance and risk
• Experience with enterprise billing systems and complex operational data
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for large data sets
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience coaching and developing team members
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
