Operations Manager – Adult Social Care

Overview

In this Operational Manager role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Adult Mental Health Social Care services, driving safe, effective and financially sustainable care focused on independence, recovery and well-being. You will lead multiple teams, develop services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple teams to deliver safe, effective and sustainable services
• Oversee performance, quality standards, and budgets to ensure high outcomes and financial stewardship
• Lead managers and practitioners, supporting development and continuous improvement of services
• Ensure compliance with Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding and other regulatory requirements
• Foster strong partnerships across organisational boundaries and with stakeholders
• Support recruitment, workforce development and person-centred practice
• Oversee service development in line with organisational policies and procedures
• Ensure effective risk management and safeguarding practices

Key requirements

• Registered with a professional body such as Social Work England
• Significant management experience with complex needs, homelessness, domestic abuse, safeguarding
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities with experience in performance, quality and budget management
• Excellent knowledge of Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding and related legislation
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
